Special Collections

  • Nova Scotia Provincial Library materials
    In early January 2005, Special Collections was invited to select items from the reference collection of the N.S. Provincial Library. Approximately 150 volumes of and about folk and popular music, Canadian literature, the book arts, and early natural history were selected. It is anticipated that all volumes will be catalogued and available for use by June 1, 2005.
  • Two plays by Halifax lawyer Reginald Harris
    Prominent Halifax lawyer, Anglican Church historian and civic leader Reginald Vanderbilt Harris (1881-1968) also wrote plays. Special Collections has just acquired 2 plays that document this interesting phase of his career: The Turn of the Tide: An HIstorical Play in Two Acts (Halifax, 1930), call # PS 8515 A7895 T87 SPCOL, and A Widow's Son: An Incident at Louisbourg (Halifax, 1931), call # PS 8515 A7895 W54 SPCOL
