Biographical Sketch

Dr. Atherton was born in York County, New Brunswick in 1843. He was educated at the University of New Brunswick (1862) and studied medicine and surgery at Harvard University graduating with M.D. in 1866. He completed Post-graduate studies at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Edinburgh and obtained his L.R.C.P.S. in 1867. Dr. Atherton practiced medicine in Fredericton for his entire career. He was an active member of several professional associations and sat on the Senate of UNB for twelve years.

Accession 69-84. The records were donated by Dr. R.P. Parkin, Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, in 1968.

Fonds consists of a notebook containing lecture notes on Obstetrics and other subjects.
