Biographical Sketch

Dr. Muir was born in Eureka, Pictou County in 1902, was employed as a teacher for three years and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University. He switched careers and graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. and M.D.,C.M. in 1931.

He joined the Canadian Armed Forces, serving as a Pathologist in the RAF, IMS and the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Muir practised as a Pathologist in Toronto for twenty years. He suffered a stroke in 1984 and at that time began writing poetry.

Fonds consists of poetry written by Dr. Muir, articles, correspondence, manuscripts and a book of poetry.
