Administrative History

The Sons of Temperance was a male temperance organization that became popular in the US and parts of Canada in the 1840s. Membership was restricted to men nominated by existing members. The Chester, Nova Scotia Division was instituted September 12th, 1848.

Custodial History

Materials were donated to the archives on March 17, 1982. Previous ownership is unknown.
