Evidence Based Medicine Working Group, Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences in Ontario, University of
Toronto. Electronic versions based on the articles in this series may be found at the

This series of six articles was published in the British Journal of
General Practice from June to November 1998. Dal does not have the
