Information Literacy is the ability to recognize when information is needed and
to locate, evaluate and use information effectively.

The Dalhousie Libraries are dedicated to working with faculty and students to promote and develop a strong presence of information literacy in the learning environment.

What is Information Literacy?

Information Literacy is a set of competencies that all students graduating from Dalhousie should have. There are 5 standards developed by the Association of College and Research Libraries which describe the competencies or abilities.
