Learning Commons - Services

Reference and Research Services

The Reference Desk, located just inside the entrance to the South Learning Commons, provides one-stop research and referral services for faculty, students, and other members of the Dalhousie community. Academic support for the humanities, sciences, social sciences, and management is provided by a dedicated team of librarians and associated knowledge workers. This service is available most hours that the Learning Commons is open.  Check the hours for this desk.

Writing Resource Centre

The Writing Center's purpose is to help Dalhousie students improve their writing. That statement might mean that a staff member will answer a quick question you have about a grammar point or about a grammar point or about a documentation style. It might also mean that you work together, one-on-one, to understand the structure of an essay or lab report. Either way, you'll be able to make an appointment, register for a three-session seminar or obtain more information about a workshop by visiting the Q&A office.
