It started with Archibald MacMechan and Charles Macdonald in 1902 -- a
century-long vision of the library as the heart of the University. From the
1905 Macdonald Memorial Library Fund of $25,000 to the 1996 Royal Bank of Canada
gift of $250,000, it has taken dedicated benefactors of the Libraries to
translate this vision into solid achievement.
